黄福霆1960年生于上海，早年就读于上海戏剧学院舞美系，师承陈钧德、张培础教授，是集创作、教育、国际交流于一身的国家一级美术师，也是当代极具创新力与国际影响力的海派艺术大家。他身兼数十项权威职务，艺术地位备受认可：现任国务院国务外事委员会国宾礼特供艺术家、教育部中国书画等级考试高级教师、中国书法家协会高级注册教师、中央国家机关美协及书协会员；受聘为中国书法文化研究所创作中心客座教授、欧洲文联名誉主席、英国牛津艺术学院名誉教授与研究生导师；担任北京京华阁书画院副院长、瀚华美术馆执行馆长、海派名人书画院常务副院长、上海市中华书画协会副会长等职（隶属于上海市旅局、民政局）,学术与社会影响力并重。

Huang Futing, born in Shanghai in 1960, studied at the Stage Design Department of the Shanghai Theatre Academy in his early years, under the tutelage of Professors Chen Junde and Zhang Peichu. He is a National First-Class Fine Artist integrating creation, education, and international exchange, as well as a great master of Shanghai-style art with remarkable innovation and international influence in contemporary times. With dozens of authoritative positions, his artistic status is widely recognized: he currently serves as a State Guest Artist specially commissioned by the State Council’s Foreign Affairs Committee, a Senior Teacher for Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Proficiency Tests under the Ministry of Education, a Senior Registered Teacher of the Chinese Calligraphers Association, and a member of the Central State Organs Artists Association and Calligraphers Association. He is also a visiting professor at the Creation Center of the Chinese Calligraphy Culture Research Institute, honorary chairman of the European Federation of Literary and Art Circles, honorary professor and postgraduate supervisor at the University of Oxford College of Art in the United Kingdom. Additionally, he holds positions such as Vice President of Beijing Jinghua Pavilion Painting and Calligraphy Academy, Executive Curator of Hanhua Art Museum, Executive Vice President of Shanghai-style Celebrities Painting and Calligraphy Academy, and Vice President of the Shanghai Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Association (affiliated with the Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration and Civil Affairs Bureau), boasting equal academic and social influence.

Artistic Innovations

In terms of artistic innovation, Huang Futing pioneered brushless texture painting, integrating diverse media such as oil painting, traditional Chinese painting, ink wash, watercolor, acrylic, and printmaking. Cultural Diplomatic Contributions

As a State Guest Artist, he has undertaken numerous major national cultural diplomacy tasks:

- In 2007, he wrote the preface and inscription for the 10-meter golden nanmu Along the River During the Qingming Festival by Huizhou-style woodcarving master Wang Jinsheng. This work, combined with a poem inscribed by Feng Qiyong, was collected by the National Museum of China.

- In 2008, he collaborated with famous artists such as Wu Guanzhong, Zhu Dequn, and Shen Peng to publish the Collection of Contemporary Chinese Painting and Calligraphy Artists at Home and Abroad, whose works were presented as state gifts for the Beijing Olympic Games.

- In 2015, during the Chinese leader’s visit to the UK, his 6 ink texture paintings were presented as state gifts to British dignitaries.

- In 2020, he joined leading figures in the art world such as Su Shushi, Fan Di’an, Fan Zeng, and Shen Peng in the "Ink and Wash Love, Art Assists Anti-Epidemic" campaign, with his works published globally in silk versions.

His artistic achievements are included in the Centennial Chinese Art Yearbook of the Central Academy of Fine Arts.
